Charged with renovating an attic space, my partner [Ryan Hughes] and I were to connect a ceiling hatch to a cupola. Using stainless steel cable fittings, aluminum grating and tempered glass we constructed a transparent staircase that allows access to the perch without compromising the existing light and ventilation strategies for the second floor below. |
