Jennifer Shields joined the UNC Charlotte School of Architecture as an Adjunct Lecturer in January of 2008 and accepted the position of Visiting Lecturer in July of 2008. Prior to teaching, Jennifer was a project designer at
Tobin Dudley Starr in Charlotte, North Carolina, working on a variety of project types and scales. As a visiting lecturer, she has taught upper level studio courses in both critical exploration and comprehensive design. She has also developed seminar courses based on her research focus - the transformation of post-industrial landscapes with the intent of repairing the disconnect between architecture and its cultural and temporal context. Jen is a Registered Architect in the State of North Carolina.
