Jennifer Shields joined the UNC Charlotte School of Architecture as an Adjunct Lecturer in January of 2008 and accepted the position of Visiting Lecturer in July of 2008. Prior to teaching, Jennifer was a project designer at Tobin Dudley Starr in Charlotte, North Carolina, working on a variety of project types and scales. As a visiting lecturer, she has taught upper level studio courses in both critical exploration and comprehensive design. She has also developed seminar courses based on her research focus - the transformation of post-industrial landscapes with the intent of repairing the disconnect between architecture and its cultural and temporal context. Jen is a Registered Architect in the State of North Carolina.

Bryan Shields joined the UNC Charlotte School of Architecture as an Adjunct Lecturer in August of 2008. Prior to teaching, Bryan worked on numerous urban infill housing projects in Charlotte, North Carolina and Lexington, Kentucky while with David Furman Architecture, now known as Axiom Architecture. He has taught upper level studio courses in critical exploration as well as seminar courses focused on the mapping of social and phenomenological contexts in order to better situate design in the site and community.

Liz Richardson is a recent graduate from UNC-Charlotte's Master of Architecture program. While at UNC-Charlotte, Liz assisted with research focused on utilizing digital fabrication techniques to manipulate various building materials with the aim of increasing the structural capabilities inherent to each material. Her personal research centers on re-establishing the experiential identity of architecture by defining one’s understanding of both the spatial and urban environments according to aural perceptions.
