This tiny island is home to the Art and Architecture Museums and Architecture Library. We did not get to go to the Architecture Library last year as it was closed for the summer by the time we got back to Stockholm – this year it did not disappoint. The first day we went Jenny got to review the drawings of Asplund on microfiche [he is so popular that they cannot make his originals available for general viewing!] and then we went back a second day and we got to handle the original sketches, working drawings and construction documents of Lewerentz’s Markuskyrkan. They also let me photograph as much as I’d like – and I had to record Jenny and her white gloves pouring over the original drawings of her favorite project.
